ABOUT THE ROLE
As our new Finance Manager, you will hold a key position within the financial operations of HFC. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our accounts, safeguarding international compliance, and maintaining efficient and reliable financial processes. In addition to overseeing core accounting activities, you will drive the continuous improvement of our systems, provide guidance to colleagues, and deliver measurable value to an organization built on professionalism, trust, and service excellence — an environment where you are supported and valued for the expertise you contribute.

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of three all-round Financial Administrators, ensuring their performance and growth in line with best practices. Your responsibilities will extend across multiple entities in the Netherlands, Western Europe, and North America, providing both an international scope and the opportunity to take on challenging and impactful work.

You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and act as a strategic partner in delivering accurate reporting and actionable financial insights, while working in a culture where integrity and compliance ensure that you can always perform at your best.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Finance Manager at HFC, you will be responsible for:

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities (Netherlands, Western Europe, North America).
  • Ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports for the CFO.
  • Monitoring general ledger postings and reconciliations.

Compliance & Tax

  • Ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements, tax legislation, and international accounting standards.
  • Preparing and filing VAT, CIT, and other relevant tax returns.
  • Acting as the point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and local accounting firms.

Team Leadership

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of three all-round Financial Administrators.
  • Promoting collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team.

Process Improvement & Control

  • Strengthening internal controls and financial processes.
  • Driving efficiency through process improvements and system enhancements (ERP, reporting tools).
  • Supporting the CFO in implementing best practices for financial governance.

Cash Flow & Treasury Support

  • Managing daily payments and cash-flow planning.
  • Monitoring liquidity across entities and supporting treasury processes.

Business Partnering

  • Acting as a trusted partner to the CFO by providing financial insights that support decision-making.
  • Delivering accurate, client-related financial reporting that adds measurable value to the business.

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, ideally in an international setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and international tax compliance.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written (other European languages are a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop a small finance team.
